#Repost @chelseaual ・・・ This week’s drawing challenge is to create a ‘self-isolation’ poster- BA Graphic design communication students Samantha Leung and Katie Beddoe have been overcoming the challenge of working together in isolation and invite you to collaborate in this open project. “We usually work together but because we are apart, we have resulted to using an online way of visually communicating how we feel. Specifically making it topical to the current climate. We had a need to create and work together, so we made a downloadable pack with items that have turned into the essentials of surviving self-isolation. Using these items, we wanted people to #createfromhome and make their own ‘self isolation’ poster. Hi @bachelseagraphics right now we are all in the same situation, we are all mostly stuck indoors, some are sick, waiting for news, some are stuck and others are travelling back home rapidly and we all are worried about what’s going to happen next. This is to be expected Had a good conversation with a few third years this morning initially about D&AD which turned into the possibilities of how we can collaborate and make creative projects that positively respond to the needs of those around us. I know it’s stressful at the moment but we will find creative ways to turn this experience around given a little time to absorb all these changes. Please stay connected with each other, plan tea breaks together online, or have lunch together on screen, find ways to support each other and maybe even cook up some creative ideas together.

Graphic Designer and Author Sarah Boris will be giving the final Tuesday Talk this term on Tuesday March 3 in the lecture theatre at 5pm. Sarah’s talk is entitled ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ Sarah will be talking about her practice and her new book ‘Global Warming Anyone?’ which is published the same week as her talk. www.sarahboris.com www.sarahboris.com/About @sarahboris_ldn @dothegreenthing Born in London and raised on both sides of the Atlantic by French parents, graphic designer and art director Sarah Boris is a beguiling mix of effusive curiosity and astute composure. Carving her design career in some of the world’s leading arts institutions and publishing houses, including the Barbican and Phaidon, she specialises in identity and editorial design and has worked with some of the UK’s most important cultural centres. Humble in her considerable accomplishments, which include the redesign of the Institute of Contemporary Arts identity in 2010, she is strongly opinionated when it comes to matters of national identity and the current political landscape. Having spent years refining her sharp, clean and colourful style, Sarah is an expert in creating invigorating work. She is a purveyor of challenges, a problem-solver and an important presence in an industry in need of more female voices. Wanting to know more about about the woman behind the hard work, we met with Sarah on a hazy afternoon to discuss her French upbringing, what it takes to transform an organisation’s identity and the political responsibility of designers in a turbulent world.
